The government introduced the Decent Homes Standard to improve social housing throughout the country, as such housing associations have had to undertake works to ensure their properties meet these standards.
GIA were asked by Hastoe Housing Association to undertake external improvement works to Victor Court, a 1960′s residential tower block to ensure that it met the government standards
GIA project managed the installation of UPVC double glazed windows and doors and cavity wall insulation to the residential block to provide a better standard of thermal efficiency. The works also included full external decorations to the property.
The project was completed to a tight timescale to ensure works were completed by the end of the financial year and to meet the client’s budget requirements.
GIA indentified several additional items of repair required to the property that need to be addressed whilst the scaffold access was in place. GIA ensured these additional works were specified, cost negotiated and undertaken without a detrimental impact on the works programme.
