The government introduced the Decent Homes Standard to improve social housing throughout the country, as such housing associations have had to undertake works to ensure their properties meet these standards.
GIA were asked by Hastoe Housing Association to inspect their properties to indentify where these standard were not met and to project manage the work required.
GIA were asked to inspect the clients properties across several sites in the South of England and schedule the required works. The works involved replacing kitchens, bathrooms and rewiring approximately 175 tenanted properties.
There was close liaison with the client’s local staff, contractors and tenant to ensure a smooth project process.
The completion date for the works was key to ensure that the clients housing stock reached the government standards by the required date. GIA worked hard to ensure the works followed a strict programme and ensured this date was met.
In addition, GIA recorded the condition and life expectancy of elements that were to remain in order to update the clients database.
